Does the council offer CPR/First Aid Training?
ONE CPR/First Aid certified coach is REQUIRED to be present at each GOTR practice. If certification is required in order for your program site to be in compliance, the council will pay for this training. (However, if you are willing and able to pay, this is greatly appreciated and extremely helpful!) If there is already a certified coach at your site, you may take the course, but will need to pay. Options:
- Jan. 28 in the Community Room at Eisenhower Elementary School, 1235 Pershing Street in Flint. 9:00am-3:00pm. COST $50
- Feb. 22 at Peckham, Inc. 3510 Capital City Blvd in Lansing (use North Entrance). 5:00pm-9:00pm. COST $27
- Online certification for those whose certification has recently expired.
Please email email@example.com to sign up for any of these.
Can I choose the site where I coach?
Coaches may indicate a preference for the site at which they would like to coach. If coaches do not have a preference, we will assign them to a location in need of volunteers.
Will I be reimbursed for coaching expenses?
Each team receives a site allowance. Coaches must submit all receipts related to program expenses at the end of the season via the site reimbursement form and will be reimbursed for an amount not to exceed the site allowance.
